Lydia Robledo
Co-Founder & Board Member, Christians in Conservation Philippines
Lydia’s interest in butterflies started when she encountered them caged. She thought: “How can one enjoy them in captivity?”. This led her to start a butterfly gardening society, then the Philippine Butterfly Habitat Conservation Society, to include forest ground cover.
She also travelled around the country chasing butterflies with a camera. She marveled at the immense biodiversity of flora and fauna. Simultaneously, her heart was grieved seeing their fast destruction. The Creator who gave us abundant natural resources cannot be dishonored. Being a graduate of Asian Theological Seminary (ATS) in Manila, she shared her burden with ATS’ Center for Biblical Stewardship where she was then involved in co-founding Christians in Conservation.
